CARD RATING

The first fight to finish was between Aspen Ladd and Lina Lansberg with a TKO at 2:27 of the second round.  The next TKO was in the fight between Brian Kelleher and Damian Stasiak at 3:39 of Round 3.  Our first submission of the night comes in the main card in the fight between Jan Blachowicz and Devin Clark.  It was a Rear Naked Choke Submission at 3:02 of Round 2.  The last of the TKO’s comes during the main fight between Donald Cerrone and Darren Till.  This fight ended at 4:20 of the first round.  The rest of the fights going to the judges for their decision.

Overall, this card averaged a score of 3.36/5 therefore giving the card a rating of 4/5.  This fight card is also tied for 12th place this year alongside the last fight- UFC 216: Ferguson vs. Lee on Saturday, October 7 as well as the The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale: Johnson vs. Gaethje that occurred on Friday, July 7, 2017.

Nasrat Haqparast (Hamburg, Germany) 9 – 1- 0 vs. Marcin Held (Tychy, Poland)  22 – 7 -0 Lightweight

Fight Fact! This is Nasrat Haqparast’s UFC Debut!

  • ROUND 1 -Both fighters looking to find their range to start off the first round.  Both fighters exchanging strikes, nothing of significance.  Held attempting a take down.  Haqparast defending well.  Held finally gets the take down with a minute to go.  Haqparast attempting a submission while Held is defending well.  A very close round, however we give it to Held for the take down and controlling the take down afterwards.
  • ROUND 2 – Held starts off the round aggressive landing a few good strikes.  Haqparast lands a hook that drops Held.  Held attempts a submission however the referee puts a stop to the action as Haqparast’s string was coming out of his trunks. The action continues.  Haqparast is putting on the pressure landing some heavy strikes.  Held attempting a take down, Haqparast reverses it and takes Held down.  Held has Haqparast in an ankle lock.  Haqparast escapes as Held gets on top.  Held looking to land some shots however Haqparast is defending very well with a minute to go.  The round ends, we give it to Haqparast for the more effective striking as well as dropping Held during the round.
  • ROUND 3 – Held gets a take down to start off the third round.  Held goes for an ankle lock.  Haqparast defends well and escapes however Held still ends up on top.  Held attempts an ankle lock once again.  Haqparast defending well yet again.  Held attempting an arm bar however Haqparast defends, gets out of the submission and gets to his feet.  Haqparast is putting the pressure on Held.  Haqparast is now on top of Held with ninety seconds to go.  Held escapes and both fighters are back in the centre of the Octagon.  Haqparast is landing some strikes.  A nice knee by Haqparast.  The round ends with a flurry of strikes by both fighters.  We give this round to Held for controlling majority of the round as well as the fight 29-28.  Judges Decide: 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision Marcin Held.  Fight Rate: 3/5

Brian “Boom” Kelleher (New York, USA) 17 – 8 – 0 vs. Damian “Webster” Stasiak (Lodz, Poland) 10 – 4 – 0 Bantamweight

  • ROUND 1 – The fight starts off with Stasiak putting the pressure on Kelleher, landing a few strikes and backing him up against the cage.  Both fighters back in the centre of the Octagon.  Kelleher then pins Stasiak against the cage.  Both fighters exchanging strikes.  Nothing of significance thus far.  Kelleher goes for an upper cut followed by a submission.  The referee is looking close.  Stasiak escapes as Kelleher ends up on top.  The round ends, we give it to Kelleher for the take down and the submission attempt.
  • ROUND 2 –  Kelleher coming out aggressive to start the second round, looking to end the fight.  Stasiak catches Kelleher with a take down.  Stasiak comes out with a spinning kick as well as a back kick, turning the pace of the fight.  Stasiak goes for a take down however Kelleher lands a knee that cuts his face.  Kelleher is then working to get his back however Stasiak gets back up.  Kelleher is hunting Stasiak down.  Another knee from Kelleher followed by another with a minute to go.  Kelleher attempts a choke which Stasiak defends well.  Kelleher then gets the back of Stasiak with 30 seconds to go.  We give this round to Kelleher for his effective striking.
  • ROUND 3 – Both fighters coming out aggressive landing effective striking.  Both fighters are going at it as Kelleher delivers a big knee.  A take down by Kelleher.  Stasiak reverses it.  Kelleher escapes and takes Stasiak down once again.  Both fighters going back and forth exchanging strikes with two minutes to go.  Stasiak with a good combo.  Kelleher with a hook that drops Stasiak.  Kelleher raining down punches as the referee is looking close.  The referee then steps in and ends the fight.    Brian Kelleher wins by TKO at 3:39 of Round 3.  Fight Rate: 4/5

Sam “Smile N” Alvey (California, USA) 31 – 9 – 0 vs. Ramazan “Gorets” Emeev (Makhachkala, Russia) 15 – 3 – 0 Middleweight

  • ROUND 1 – The round starts with Emeev pinning Alvey against the cage attempting a take down.  He doesn’t get it.  Both fighters break and are back in the centre of the Octagon.  Emeev comes in with a good punch combo that backs Alvey up.  Emeev lands a big punch on Alvey and pins him against the cage with over a minute to go.  Emeev gets a take down.  Emeev with combinations towards Alvey putting on the pressure.  Alvey is wobbling against the cage.  The round ends.  We give this round to Emeev for his more effective striking and the take down.
  • ROUND 2 – Emeev pushes forward and pins Alvey against the cage to start the second round.  He lands a few shots and then gets out as both fighters are back in the centre of the Octagon.  Emeev with another combo of his own.  Emeev attempting a take down, he doesn’t get it however lands a combo on his way out.  Emeev goes for a flurry to end the round.  We give this round to Emeev once again for his effective striking and pushing the pace of the round.
  • ROUND 3 – Emeev comes out aggressive to start the last round and pins Alvey against the cage.  Emeev unloading strikes on Alvey against the cage.  Emeev attempting another take down which he doesn’t get.  Both fighters are now back in the centre of the Octagon.  Emeev attempts a take down with Alvey to end the round as the horn blows.  We give this round and the fight to Emeev for his pressure on Alvey 30-27.  Judges Decide: All three judges score the fight 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision Ramazan Emeev.  Fight Rate: 3/5

 

Andre “Touchy” Fili (California, USA) 16 – 5 – 0 vs. Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov (Dublin, Ireland) 14 – 13 – 1 Featherweight

  • ROUND 1 – The fight starts off with a body kick by Fili.  Both fighters exchanging strikes.  Fili keeping his distance and landing far more strikes.  Lobov is trying to get in however Fili isn’t letting him.  Lobov’s face is bleeding from multiple areas.  Fili doing a great job in keeping the distance and landing strikes.   A head kick by Fili drops Lobov with 20 seconds left.  After multiple hits, Lobov gets back up but is wobbling as the horn blows.  We give this round to Fill for his effective striking and controlling the round.
  • ROUND 2 – Both fighters starting off the round trading strikes.  Lobov with a combo of his own.  Fili responds with a combo of his own.  Lobov is starting to take control of the round.  Both fighters continue to go back and forth.  Fili attempts a take down with a minute left.  A great option as this has been a close fight.  The referee stops the fight for a quick second to tell Connor McGregor to sit back down and stop interrupting the fight as he is yelling and screaming giving Lobov tips.  The fight continues, Lobov gets back up as both fighters exchange strikes and the round ends.  We give this round to Fili for the take down.
  • ROUND 3 – Fili takes Lobov down to start the third round.  Lobov attempt a submission, Fili escapes, gets back up and takes Lobov down once again.  Fili is attempting a submission, Lobov defends well.  Lobov gets back up again with two minutes to go just as Fili takes Lobov down once again.  Lobov gets up once again and goes right back down with Fili’s take down.  The horn blows.  We give this round to Fili for his four take downs.  We also give him the fight 30-27.  Judges Decide:  All three judges score the fight 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision Andre Fili.  Fight Rate: 3/5

Warlley Alves (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) 11 – 2 – 0 vs. Salim Touahri (Krakow, Poland) 10 – 1- 0 Welterweight

Fight Fact! This is Salim Touahri’s UFC Debut!

  • ROUND 1 – Alves starts off the round by attempting a take down on Touahri.  He doesn’t get it but pins him against the cage.  They break and both fighters are back in the centre of the Octagon trading strikes.  Alves lands a few good strikes and then takes Touahri down to the mat with over a minute to go.  Touahri gets back up however is pinned against the cage.  Touahri escapes and both fighters are back in the centre of the Octagon.  The round ends, we give it to Alves for controlling the round and landing  more effective striking.
  • ROUND 2 – Both fighters start off the second round by exchanging strikes in the centre of the Octagon. Nothing of significance.  Alves lands some big strikes which Touahri reverses and pins Alves against the cage.  Alves breaks loose and both fighters are back to the centre of the Octagon.  A spinning back kick by Alves.  Alves lands a few good strikes and then pins Touahri against the cage.  The round ends, we give this round to Alves once again for his effective striking.
  • ROUND 3 – The third round starts with both fighters engaging in the centre of the Octagon.  Alves goes for a kick and accidentally hits Touahri below the belt.  After a quick time out we are back in action.  Alves coming out a bit more aggressive landing some big kicks.  Last minute to go in the round and the crowd is cheering!  Alves working for a take down which he gets.  Touahri quickly gets back up however time is running out.  The round ends, we give this round as well as the fight to Alves 30-27.  Judges Decide:  30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 for your winner by unanimous decision Warlley Alves.  Fight Rate: 3/5

Aspen Ladd (California, USA) 5 – 0 – 0 vs. Lina “Elbow Queen” Lansberg (Malmo, Sweden) 7 – 2-  0 Bantamweight

Fight Fact! This is Aspen Ladd’s UFC Debut!

  • ROUND 1 – The fight starts off with Ladd getting Lansberg up against the cage.  Lansberg reverses it and has Ladd against the cage.  Lansberg landing some elbows against the cage with ninety seconds left in the first round.  The round ends, we give it to Lansberg for her more effective striking against the cage.
  • ROUND 2 – The round starts off with Lansberg landing some strikes to Ladd.  Ladd follows up with a take down.  Ladd works for a full mount and gets it. Ladd landing some strikes from the top and then starts to rain down strikes.  The referee looking in close and then steps in and ends the fight!  Aspen Ladd wins by TKO at 2:27 of Round 2.  Fight Rate: 4/5

Felipe “Sertanejo” Arantes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) 18 – 8 – 1 vs. Josh Emmett (California, USA) 11 – 1- 0 Featherweight

  • ROUND 1 – The fight starts off.  Emmett lands a hook that drops Arantes.  Arantes gets up however Emmett drops him once again.  Emmett is landing some heavy strikes! Emmett allows Arantes to get back up as he doesn’t want to get submitted as  Emmett continues to land big strikes.  A stiff jab by Emmett that drops Arantes once more.  The referee taking a closer look as Emmett is landing some more strikes from the ground.  Both fighters trading strikes.  Emmett seems to be giving the better of them.  A hook drops Arantes once more.  Emmett allows Arantes to get up once again.  The round ends.  We give this round to Emmett for his dominant performance as a 10-8 round.
  • ROUND 2 – Arantes starts off a bit more aggressive than the first round, staying out of the way of the heavy punches by Emmett.  Arantes with a heavy combination of his own to get back in the fight.  Emmett with an attempted take down, which he gets as he lands some strikes till the horn blows to end the round.  We give this round to Emmett for the take down attempts.
  • ROUND 3 – The third round starts with Arantes coming out with a few strikes.  Both fighters exchanging strikes.  So far Emmett seems to be giving he better of them.  With less than a minute to go, both fighters seem to be giving it their all and not giving up. We give this round to Emmett for controlling majority of the round.  We give this fight to Emmett as well 30-26.  Judges Decide: 30-26, 30-26 and 30-25 for your winner by unanimous decision Josh Emmett.  Fight Rate:  3/5
